Geoffrey Colman
Geoffrey is currently Head of Acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London. As a theatre / opera director and acting coach Geoffrey has collaborated with a diverse range of national & international practitioners, directed hologram installations for Musion International (Bloomsbury Theatre, London), Chekhov for President Mikhail Gorbachev (Hampton Court, London), many new writing initiatives in collaboration with Old Vic New Voices & OffWestEnd.Com, and has a longstanding association with the Theatre Royal Haymarket, as a ‘resident’ master. His introduction to Steven Berkoff’s One Act Plays (Methuen Drama) was published in 2013.
Geoffrey broadcasts and writes on a range of performance-related issues (BBC One Show, BBC Radio 3 Night Waves, BBC World Service, ITV, The Stage etc.,) and his numerous ‘in conversation’ events at the National Theatre (Platform), Barbican (BITE/LIFT), Haymarket (Masterclass), Hampstead, ICA (Culture Now) etc. with actors, directors & writers continue to be extremely popular.
Recent Theatre includes ‘Justitia’ with Jasmin Vardimon Company at Sadlers Wells / Peacock Theatre, London.
Recent Film & TV coaching includes; Natacha Atlas (Transglobal Underground), Lenny Henry, Miramax Pictures, Universal Pictures, Skillicious (ITV), Doc / Actuality – Pineapple Studios (Sky 1), Derren Brown – ‘Miracles For Sale’ (Channel 4), Derren Brown – ‘Apocalypse‘ (Channel 4), Derren Brown – ‘Fear & Faith‘ (Channel 4), ‘Mother of Invention’ (HBO / Sky 1), Kick Ass 2 (Marv Films / Universal Pictures International – dir. Jeff Wadlow / released 2013).
