Enhancing Relations between Arts and Academia Roundtable

Event Details

Date:
29th April, 2010
Time:
10:00 -
Venue:
The Salt Room, Somerset House, London WC2R

The London Centre for Arts and Cultural Exchange commissioned an essay entitled ‘Towards Ecologies of Learning: Enhancing Relations between Arts and Academia’ by Bronac Ferran. The essay made a significant contribution to a series that LCACE produced the previous year for Arts Council England entitled ‘Working with Higher Education to develop Digital Strategy in the Visual Arts’. The commissioned paper illustrated examples of collaborations between visual arts professionals and academics and indicated the benefits that such partnerships can bring to those involved, it also asked probing questions about the roles, responsibilities and wider implications of Arts-HE collaborations. To coincide with the launch of the essay, LCACE hosted a  roundtable event to provide a space for reflection and discussion on the key emergent themes and to provide an opportunity to explore the potential for new ways of working in the future.

Contributors/Speakers: Bronac Ferran, author of ‘Towards Ecologies of Learning: Enhancing Relations between Arts and Academia’.
