Dr Simon Hayley, Senior Lecturer in Finance has been named as Associate Dean for Learning Innovation and Development at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass).
Dr Hayley, whose teaching has won multiple student awards, will oversee the development of teaching and pedagogical innovation at Bayes.
A former market analyst, Dr Hayley’s research focuses on investor behaviour and problems in performance measurement. He said he was looking forward to developing student learning in what is a period of transition for the Higher Education sector.
“I am looking forward to taking on the challenge of this role at such a critical time,” he said.
“The landscape of university education was turned on its head during the pandemic, with the need to find remote learning solutions.
“While in-person teaching has returned at Bayes, it remains critical to continue seeking and implementing new ways to innovate learning on our programmes – for both online and face-to-face tuition.
Excellence in our teaching is vital to developing leaders of the future, which is at the heart of our objectives as a global business school.”
Professor Richard Payne, Deputy Dean of Bayes said Dr Hayley would bring valuable expertise of enhancing the teaching environment.
“Dr Hayley is a very experienced and successful teacher on Bayes’ finance programmes, and held in extremely high regard by everyone at the School, including his students,” Professor Payne said.
“This is largely thanks to his dedication to making learning as enjoyable and accessible as possible. He has been an active member on our Teaching and Learning Committee, and we are very pleased that he is stepping into this role to maximise the potential for innovation and development of our learning environment.”
