UWL Library Services is committed to making reading lists and the general library collections more inclusive and representative of students’ diverse identities.
Since 2018/19 academic year we have had multiple approaches to this work including liaison, ring-fenced budgets, a co-creation campaign and a KPI to grow material authored authors from underrepresented groups. An additional important element of this work is how we track the impact of increasing inclusive material on reading lists through quantitative assessment of awarding gaps at module level.
In recent years we have taken an intersectional approach to this work. This seminar will evidence the different approaches taken and provide some practical examples and critical reflection on the work undertaken.
