Transport yourself to the city of Matanzas, Cuba and experience Cuban rumba played where it was originally created.
The Music Room is a musical experience with a difference. We will transport you to the city of Matanzas, Cuba to experience Cuban rumba played in the space where it was created, the solares (tenement yards) of the city. Everyday life goes on around the musicians and you can watch as people wander in and watch, dance and sing.
Walk into the space and all around you the musicians are playing, get close to one and you can pick out their instrument as if they were there playing in real life. We will be there to discuss and explain anything you might wish to know about the music and the project.
