To mark LGBT History Month 2021, SONET, LSBU, and Unison are proud to present a series of public online events from international thought leaders representing the LGBTQ+ community.
Raewyn Connell (she/her), is a long-time activist for change in education, including in universities. In her writing, she explores the ‘crisis of sustainability’ facing universities in the modern Higher Education sector and asks us to consider what a ‘good university’ should look like and do?
Raewyn Connell is Professor Emerita at the University of Sydney. She is a highly-cited researcher in social science and an experienced teacher who has worked in universities around the world. She remains an active trade unionist and advocate for workers’ rights, student autonomy and social justice in education. Her books include Masculinities (2005), Southern Theory (2007), Gender: In World Perspective (4th edition 2021) and The Good University (2019).
