“A long-overdue book, 100 Great Black Britons honours the remarkable achievements of key Black British individuals through history, in collaboration with the 100 Great Black Britons campaign founded and run by Patrick Vernon OBE and Dr Angelina Osborne. With a foreword written by David Olusoga, this book includes a list of Black British names and accompanying portraits – including new role models and previously little-known historical figures. Each entry explores in depth the individual’s contribution to British history – a contribution that too often has been either overlooked or dismissed.”
LSBU are thrilled that both Patrick & Angelina are joining our Black History Month celebrations to discuss their new book, 100 Great Black Britons. They’ll be discussing how the book came about following on from the relaunch of the groundbreaking campaign created to ensure the recognition of the continued legacy and achievement of Black people in Britain and why it is so important…
They’ll also be focusing on some of the local individuals featured in the book to help us understand the history of the area surrounding LSBU and there will be a chance to ask them any questions you might have about the book, their thoughts on this year and their experiences/highlights of writing it!
