Deborah Lincoln appointed Chair of Guildhall School Trust

Guildhall School Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Chair to lead the Board of Trustees. Deborah Lincoln takes up the role of Chair from June 2020.

The Guildhall School Trust is a registered charity which exists to supports students and projects at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. It works closely with the Development and Alumni Relations Office to facilitate philanthropic support of the School.

Deborah Lincoln enjoys a fulfilling career in the creative industries as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs, International for Warner Bros. Entertainment. She has significant experience as a trustee, chairing the Board of Trustees at Watford Palace Theatre.

On her appointment, Deborah said:

“I am honoured and excited to chair the Guildhall School Trust and to have the opportunity to work together with my fellow Trustees and the leadership of the School. It is a privilege to support the future of this world-leading music and drama community for this and the generations of talented students to come.”

Outgoing Chair Martin Moore, who has completed his term on the Trust, said:

“It has been a privilege to work with the Trust and the School in this capacity and now it gives me enormous pleasure to hand the responsibility of chairing the Trust to my accomplished successor Deborah Lincoln. I will remain very much involved in the School as a Patron and avid supporter and will continue to marvel at the talents of the incredible students held within the four walls of this very special School”.

Lynne Williams, Principal of the School, commented:

“The Guildhall School Trust plays a vital part in facilitating the strategic aims of the School, by supporting the exceptional talent of our students, our world-leading teaching, our nurturing of artistic citizens and our flourishing global research community. I would like to thank Martin Moore for the huge commitment he has shown during his time as Chair, overseeing a significant amount of change for the Trust, and I am delighted to welcome Deborah on behalf of the School – myself and my colleagues look forward to working closely with her and her fellow Trustees in ensuring future philanthropic support for our institution.”
