For several years now, The Culture Capital Exchange has been holding an annual event on the REF, creating a supportive space for our members to come together to share information, experience, expertise and concerns.
This workshop follows directly from our event in February at Middlesex University entitled REF 2021: Practice-based Research Workshop. As part of that event, Dr Alex Mermikides (GSMD) led a short session encouraging workshop attendees to read and comment upon her 300 word statement. As a result of that activity, and the interest it generated among the group, we are following up with this workshop on the 300 word statement required as part of the REF submission.
This activity is likely to be of primary relevance and interest to academic staff, researchers preparing their own statement as well as those who are leading, managing or supporting institutional REF submissions. The aim will be to create a relatively informal and supportive space in which to:
The workshop will be facilitated by Evelyn Wilson (TCCE) and sessions led by Dr Alex Mermikides (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), Professor Vida Midgelow (Middlesex University) and others. An agenda and further instructions will be sent to attendees the week before the event. Registration is essential. This event is free to TCCE members. Those wishing to attend must book using their institutional email addresses. We do also have a small number of places for non TCCE members priced at £50.
