The University of West London (UWL) continues to open up access to education by training hundreds of apprentices in everything from cyber-security, healthcare and business management each year.

The University takes on more than 300 higher and degree apprentices each year, helping people train and upskill in business, healthcare and academic sectors – as well as helping young people get a foot on the career ladder while they study.

Working with more than 100 employers to train students in West London in everything from computing and engineering, business, and health and social care.

The University has long-standing partnerships with international organisations including GSK, Sega, Pladis, and a range of NHS trusts across West London and Berkshire, and is increasingly working with start-ups, new businesses and small local employers to help upskill the local workforce.

As well as helping employers attract new talent, apprenticeships can help businesses strengthen their existing workforce by retaining employees and training them in specific areas to meet particular needs.

Courses and qualifications are targeted and developed in partnership with industry to ensure that learning and skills are relevant and focused, and offer a motivation for employees who can gain qualifications and continue in education as they work.

The University provides support for businesses in recruiting apprentices, and all students can access pastoral and academic support during their studies, as well as the library and facilities.
