UCL is delighted to welcome the theatre director Iqbal Khan, whose radical and revelatory productions for the RSC have been widely acclaimed.
They include Much Ado About Nothing transposed to contemporary Delhi, Othello with a black Iago, Antony and Cleopatra with a black Cleopatra, and Molière’s Tartuffe relocated in the Pakistani-Muslim community in Birmingham.
Iqbal will discuss his work with a panel from UCL English Department (Shani Bans, Helen Hackett, James Waddell), and will take questions from the audience.
Looking forward @JS_Diaspora opening a discussion with stimulus from award winning film #MyNameIs @mynameisdocu on 'Decolonising the self before we can decolonise HE & culture' @RADA_London via @InfoTCCE tomorrow as part of a broader event from 1pm to 3pm.
