This session is an introductory playwriting session for anyone interested in recycling their current, or discarded, research into shiny new performance. We’ll do some basic playwriting exercises to identify and develop themes, conflicts, images and forms, which may also be useful for your academic and professional writing.
Nicola Baldwin, playwright and UCL Creative Fellow, is working with Dr Pushpa Arabindoo of UCL Geography, and UCL Urban Laboratory, on The City Dionysia: Narrating Wasteland in Urban Life – a project to explore how twenty-first theatre can promote creative enquiry into urban problems, drawing upon political practices of urban activism as forms of theatricality to display, dramatize and address a theme.
