The University of West London (UWL) has announced that it has purchased Ealing-based Drama Studio London, which is now officially part of UWL.
The Studio, which was established over 50 years ago, counts Emily Watson and Forest Whitaker as alumni and has established a reputation in the acting world for excellent vocational courses.
Kit Thacker, Manager Director of Drama Studio London, said:
This is great news for our students who will now be able to access all the fabulous resources that UWL has to offer. This is a great opportunity to work with a renowned University of national standing to deliver the best for our students whilst maintaining our distinct identity.
Professor Peter John, Vice-Chancellor of UWL, said:
We are a University that understands the Creative Industries and UWL is already home to thousands of students across a range of creative disciplines, so it makes perfect sense to bring Drama Studio London under the UWL umbrella so we can share resources, expertise and develop new creative collaborations.
