‘How social determinants influence our health’, presented by Dr Emily Petherick, Lecturer in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Loughborough University.
The talk will present an overview of the social determinants of health to discuss how, despite radical advances in public health over the last century, we still see radical differences in life expectancy and health outcomes depending on where you are born and reside within the UK.
It will also look at how physical activity and the wider determinants of health have the potential to be an important contributor to reductions in health inequalities.
