The Hospital Club will be helping launch International Women’s Week with ‘From the Wilderness‘; an event to showcase the work of emerging female filmmakers.
The event includes screening of short films from some of the UK’s best new writers and directors, and is co-curated by Central’s Amanda Brennan, Course Leader for MA Acting for Screen. Following the screening there will be a Q&A with the multi award-winning director Susanna White.
Amanda also works as a freelance acting coach and has directed and produced a series of award-winning short films. She is the director of Letters to April (2017), and Birthcloud (2015), which won Best Supporting Actress and Best Ensemble Cast at the Monaco International Film Festival in 2015. She has recently worked with actors on various projects including Genius (2018), Journey’s End (2018), and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (2016).
Films will include new work from emerging writer-directors Charlotte Regan and Jacqueline Pepall, and number of students and graduates from Central’s MA Acting for Screen course will have their work shown as a part of the festival.
