Ravensbourne has been ranked sixth place among UK institutions in Business of Fashion (BoF)’s esteemed Global Fashion Schools ranking.

A total of 73 institutions globally participated in the rankings this year, with all four of Ravensbourne’s undergraduate fashion courses coming under scrutiny.

The rankings aim to provide an independent and objective assessment of the top fashion schools globally. More than 11,000 students and alumni are surveyed, with additional feedback received from over 75 HR professionals.

Using these results, BoF assess institutions on three overarching criteria. Firstly, their global influence, which is assessed using feedback from academics as well as looking at how selective institutions are in admitting applicants; secondly the learning experience, using student satisfaction surveys regarding the quality of teaching and resources made available to them; and finally the long-term value of the course, and how well it prepares students for a career in fashion.

Commenting, Caroline Gilbey, Associate Dean for the Department of Fashion said: “We are delighted to have jumped up 11 places in the global rankings to sit in the top 6 institutions in the UK; it’s rewarding to see our hard work has been recognised. We are constantly looking at new ways to develop and improve our courses, and remain committed to being industry-focused in our approach. Our track record shows Ravensbourne graduates go on to achieve great things, working at globally-recognised brands like Burberry and Stradivarius, and this is the way we want to keep it.”
