Ravensbourne triumphed at the Bill Vinten GTC (Guild of Television Camera Professionals) University Awards this week, winning the overall “University Trophy”.

It was the first year Ravensbourne entered, submitting a portfolio of films including: dance routine ‘Anemoi’, a documentary on a new whisky distillery in ‘Speyside’ and the drama, ‘Wayfaring Strangers’.

Students, Olivia Norman-Reade and James Sheriden-Vigor from the BA (Hons) Digital Film Production course reached the individual shortlist. James, for his aerial work on ‘Speyside’ and Olivia for her cinematography work on ‘Anemoi’. Student, Peter Bishop who acted as a director of photography on ‘Wayfaring Strangers’ also had the highest scoring portfolio.

Associate Senior Lecturer of Ravensbourne’s BA (Hons) Digital Film Production course, Josh Fortune said: “We’re absolutely delighted to win.

“The students have worked so hard and it’s great to see their first class industry skills recognised by a prestigious industry body like GTC.”

Student, Olivia Norman-Reade said: “We had a brilliant night – I’m over the moon.

“I’d like to thank our tutors who have been really supportive and have been on hand throughout the whole process, offering expertise and encouraging our creative thinking.”
