Ravensbourne certified as Disability Confident Employer

New logo

Ravensbourne has been certified as a Disability Confident Employer by Disability Confident, a government approved scheme which helps employers recruit and retain people with disabilities and health conditions.

The Disability Confident scheme was launched in 2013 by the Department for Work & Pensions, and has been an important source of guidance for employers looking to make their working environments more disability friendly.

Ravensbourne has taken a number of actions to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the scheme, such as including disability awareness equality training in their induction process, providing mentoring, coaching and other support networks to their staff and providing occupational health services when required.

Commenting, Doreen de Bellotte, Director of Human Resources said: “At Ravensbourne we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our staff and students. Disability Confident have done a great job making sure we explore all possible avenues in terms of making our institution an attractive place to work for everyone. We are committed to staying as up to date with the latest employment practices as possible, carrying these through into our recruitment and induction process.”
