GuildhallSchool Red

We are delighted to announce that the 2018 Reflective Conservatoire Conference, ‘Artists as Citizens’, programme is now available online.

Taking place over 20-23 February at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the conference will explore through an array of speakers and workshop leaders:

  • how we understand artistic citizenship
  • empowering students, and established artists, as artist-citizens
  • new professional artistic tools and practices
  • global and political perspectives, from South Africa’s townships to south east Asia
  • transformative curriculum design
  • creative and collaborative partnerships – from prisons, refugee centres, local authorities, to care-givers
  • arts in health

Keynote speakers include: Professor Geoffrey Crossick (Distinguished Professor of Humanities, SOAS, University of London), Vikki Heywood CBE (Chairman, RSA) and Helen Marriage (Director, Artichoke). More information about our keynote speakers, and the full conference programme, can be found online at: www.gsmd.ac.uk/rcc

With 110 speakers confirmed from more than 60 different institutions across 19 different countries, the Reflective Conservatoire Conference brings together leading performers, teachers and researchers from all over the world to address the key issues in Higher Education within music and drama.

In 2015, over 430 people attended the Reflective Conservatoire Conference, so book now to avoid disappointment as places are limited. Full conference earlybird rate expires 20 November.

For more information please don’t hesitate to contact us on conference.2018@gsmd.ac.uk.
