The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) announced today that City, University of London has received a Silver award in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

The TEF is a new government initiative designed to encourage further the enhancement of quality in teaching and learning in Higher Education.

Professor Sir Paul Curran, President of City, University of London commented:

This award recognises City’s commitment to delivering an outstanding experience to our students.

Our unwavering focus on academic excellence and our recent investment in our academic staff, our estate and our infrastructure have created an exceptionally high quality and supportive learning environment for the benefit of our students.

This has been aided by the hard work of our dedicated staff; and our close working relationship with the Students’ Union and over 700 Programme Representatives who provide us with direct insight into the needs of our students.

The TEF has identified City’s high quality teaching and the satisfaction and exceptional employment record of our students.  It has also validated City’s educational plans for student satisfaction, employability and particularly progression that are integral to our recently approved Vision & Strategy 2026.

The result comes during a successful year for City. The Complete University Guide 2018 placed City first in London for student satisfaction for the second consecutive year and 14th in the UK for graduate prospects.
