Deadline Extension for Research Networking Highlight Notice

The AHRC is pleased to announce an extension to the current highlight notice within its research networking scheme for International Development to encourage the development of research networking proposals which explore the contribution that arts and humanities research can make to challenges, policy and/or practice relating to international development.

This highlight notice will now close at 1600 hours on Tuesday 25 April 2017. The extension will provide applicants who need more time to build strong international collaboration and explore networking opportunities which may be emerging out of new collaborations being explored linked to other GCRF calls.

In addition, “China and The Creative Economy” has been added as a new potential area of opportunity in the updated highlight notice to build on the AHRC’s participation in the Pujiang Innovation forum in October 2016. Commenting on the addition of this area in the highlight notice AHRC’s Chief Executive, Professor Andrew Thompson, who attended the forum, commented:

This opportunity has arisen from a recent and highly successful event at the Pujiang Innovation Forum in Shanghai focusing on cultural heritage and the creative economy. It was clear from that event that there is considerable appetite for international collaborative research bringing together academics and practitioners from across the UK and China. We hope that there will be a positive response to this call, which will be part of a wider programme of activity over the next few years with funding AHRC has secured from the Newton Fund and may potentially secure from the new Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.
