‘Walking the City’ TCCE Annual Walking Weekend 2016

Walk Guide: Anise Bullimore, City University London

Duration: about 75 minutes

Me thinks that the moment my legs begin to move, my thoughts begin to flow”. –
Henry David Thoreau

When we talk while walking, the quality of our conversations is different.  Movement and being in an outdoor environment enables us to think more creatively and positively.  Walking and talking side by side rather than face-to-face enables us to feel comfortable and open.  In this walk participants are encouraged to reap such benefits by being a moving conversation.

The walkers will walk and talk in a variety of pairs using a series of questions and simple reflective activities, in a safe and supportive space.  We will discuss and share our experiences of urban walking.

The walk will take a circular route through Regent’s Park.  Starting and ending at the intersection of Outer Circle and Park Square at the south east of the park.

This spacious beautiful park, with its greenery,  scenery and traffic free paths will allow participants to focus on conversations.

Please note: This walk will involve a moderate pace, talking while walking, and will not be suitable for children. We ask that attendees come prepared to have a conversation with someone they may not know before the walk.

Anise Bullimore:
Anise is a walking coach and she uses walking and learning as part of her role as a tutor on a leadership course as well as with her team as Head of Educational Technology at City University London.
