Plenary lecture in translation with Canan Marasligil, a freelance writer, literary translator, editor and curator based in Amsterdam. She works internationally on a variety of literary and cultural projects in English, French, Turkish, Dutch and Spanish.  Canan’s primary interest is in challenging official narratives and advocating freedom of expression through different creative processes, translation being a key part of it. She is specialised in contemporary Turkish literature as well as in comics. She has translated comics, short stories, novels and poetry, and has edited anthologies of contemporary Turkish writing in French. Her work in translation goes beyond the page, including curation of programmes with translation at its centre.
