This panel discusses the impact of public spending cuts and funding changes on the Arts since the financial crash of 2008. It will examine access for all to the Arts, the concentration of funding in metropolitan centres, participation in the arts and humanities at university following the introduction of £9,000 tuition fees, the teaching of arts and humanities in secondary schools, and the value of arts and culture in a wider economic context.
