Dame Gillian Beer’s much-heralded research has included work on the Victorian novel and its relation to Darwin’s theories, and a collection of essays on Virginia Woolf. Ruth Padel’s work in the fields of poetry, prose fiction and non-fiction is informed by her background as a classicist and her immersion in science and the natural world.
There will be a questions and answers session at the end of the reading. Wine will be provided.
