By Lucy Kirkwood
Director: Angie Langfield
Performed by BA (Hons) Acting students
Set in the editorial offices of a Nuts style Lads’ Magazine ‘Doghouse’ and a womens’ glossy ‘Electra’, Lucy Kirkwood’s brilliant satire exposes the corrupt values of our hypersexual society, the manipulation of the female image and the accessibility of the porn sites, viewed by the young, which feed this voyeuristic climate.
NSFW ‘not safe for work’ refers to the kind of online material one wouldn’t want to be caught browsing.
At ‘Doghouse’ there’s a crisis which could close the magazine while at ‘Electra’ a new recruit is bullied into finding physical flaws in the near perfect images of celebrities.
Lucy Kirkwood is the author of the West End hit Chimerica which won best Play at the 59th Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2013
