The Research Hubs at London College of Fashion are groups of people (both from within and external to LCF) who come together to explore similar interests and ideas. The role of the hubs is to encourage and support developing these ideas for the benefit of the individuals, groups, London College of Fashion, and the university.

The aim of this conference is to showcase collectively what we do. We want to call for a rich collection of contributions where people can see for themselves what takes place at (and the potential of attending and contributing to) the hubs. Our aim is to encourage and stimulate colleagues/students to engage with, and respond to, these ideas, projects and collaborations – we want to provoke audience members to come up with their own ideas for the future!

At the conference we will also be launching the new LCF Research Hubs e-zine – a bi-annual publication that will present all types of submissions from across the LCF Research Hubs. This will be a full-colour electronic publication capable of presenting submissions that are visual (both static and moving), sound and textual. Within this we aim to include a range of ideas, developed ideas, work-in-progress and calls for help and support from a variety of disciplines. We hope to include much of the content from the LCF Hubs Conference in the first issue (subject to agreement by author[s]).
