The Culture Capital Exchange hosted a series of informal seminars entitled The Rules of Engagement aimed at assisting academic researchers communicate their research in a range of public situations and media. Topics covered included expressing complex ideas in an accessible way, making the most of networking, top tips on public speaking, blogging, tweeting, and presenting yourself and your ideas to the media. The Rules of Engagement included a Public Engagement Programme, which comprised of three early evening training sessions at Somerset House, with wine and nibbles provided. The public engagement events were free to members of The Culture Capital Exchange and could each hold 30 attendees. The sessions were facilitated by an impressive group of acclaimed cultural leaders and entitled Engaging in non-academic contexts, Communicating with non-academic groups and Broadcasting your ideas.
