The London Centre for Arts and Cultural Exchange hosted an information, discussion and networking event for staff from LCACE partner institutions on the funding available from trusts and foundations, and their priorities for engagement in Higher Education today. The event brought together representatives from a range of trusts and foundations who outlined the ways in which they work with Higher Education and the kinds of research and collaborative projects they support, with an emphasis on the arts. It also provided case-studies from academics and practitioners who have recently received trust or foundation support. The event ultimately created a forum to find out about the future priorities of the presenting organisations, and concluded with a networking lunch. The event presented a timely opportunity for academics and other members of university staff to access an overview of the priorities of key trusts and foundations, learn about contemporary research projects supported by trusts or foundations and participate in discussion and network with colleagues.
Contributors/Speakers: Barry Ife, Guildhall School of Music & Drama; Dr Anne Dean, Leverhulme Trust; Jenny Paton, Wellcome Trust; Tim Joss, Rayne Foundation; Brian Allen, Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.
