Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) are vaunted as one of the best manifestations of knowledge transfer, established over 40 years ago, to enable businesses to take advantage of the wide range of expertise and knowledge available in the UK’s universities. However, the arts and cultural sectors pose seemingly unique problems in the delivery of these partnerships.  The London Centre for Arts and Cultural Exchange hosted an event in response to this phenomenon, KTP: Making Them Work for the Cultural Sector. The event was an information exchange and discussion with speakers which explored developing successful partnership, persuading arts and cultural organisations of their worth, and coping with predicaments surrounding money and funding. The impressive panel of experts discussed case studies of contemporary KTPs, inclusive of those at the Southbank Centre and Hampton Court Palace. The networking event was designed for knowledge transfer professionals, academics and arts and cultural organisations interested in developing KTPs in the future.
