The London Centre for Arts and Cultural Exchange hosted an event at the Guildhall School to promote their new Academic and Arts Professionals Network. The aim of the network was to create a space for LCACE partner academics and other staff to meet with peers from the arts and professional sector to promote discussion about issues and opportunities of mutual interest. For this launch event, Barry Ife, Principal of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, was in conversation with Sir John Tusa, Managing Director of the Barbican Centre. The discourse surrounded the Guildhall School’s plans for expansion and new collaborations between the Conservatoire and The Barbican Centre. The two leading players discussed their visions for the future, their ideas about collaborations between Higher Education and the arts, and thoughts on how this might apply to other institutions. The conversation was followed by questions, wine and networking.
Contributors/Speakers: Barry Ife, Principal of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama; Sir John Tusa, Managing Director of the Barbican Centre.
