Once again, the Trinity Laban jazz department perform at one of the world’s most prestigious jazz venues, Ronnie Scott’s. In this double bill, Malcolm Earle-Smith directs the Trinity Laban Jazz Ensemble in a selection of instrumental compositions and songs by Billy Strayhorn and Duke Ellington from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Then Mark Lockheart and the Trinity Laban Contemporary Jazz Ensemble play an exciting programme of music by British jazz composers, from Django Bates, Eddie Parker and Nikki Illes to the leading composers of today’s generation such as Laura Jurd, Josh Blackmore and Matt Roberts.
