TCCE’s ‘Walking the City 2016’ Call for Ideas

Proposal Deadline:  10am, Monday 22nd February 2016.

APPLICATION FORM (download here)

Please note: We will be accepting proposals from TCCE member academics, researchers and professional staff only.

Dear Colleagues,

As some of you will be aware, TCCE’s ‘Walking the City’ walking weekend is now in its third year and will be taking place this year on Fri 15th, Sat 16th and 17th April 2016.

Walking the City has featured a brilliant and eclectic range of walks in London led by academics and researchers from across the TCCE partnership institutions so far, with walks taking place across the city in areas including: King’s Cross, St James’s, Harrow, Stratford, Bloomsbury and Whitechapel.  Previous themes have included: London Clubs in literary fiction, Buildings and Typography, Gentrification, Sensory Walking, Walking with Books, and Migrant Lives in the East End.

We would like to encourage any of our researchers who might wish to develop a walk as part of this year’s weekend to get in touch and submit a proposal to us by:
10am, Monday 22nd February 2016.

The APPLICATION FORM can be downloaded here.

We are happy to consider proposals on any topic, and from any discipline, that will be of interest to either a general audience and/or more niche audiences in London. This opportunity can also enable researchers to find a space in which to explore walking as a new methodology for research. In the case of the latter, we are also interested in walking as part of practice-based research.

If you would like to arrange a short telephone chat about your proposal before submitting it, please do feel free to contact Georgina Potts.

Please note: This activity is only open to TCCE member academics and professional staff.

The walking weekend will be taking place Fri 15th, Sat 16th and Sun 17th April 2016.

We look forward to hearing from you.
