(Im)Possibilities is a creative band formed by young artists from across London (aged 14 – 25) and Guildhall School students that makes original music and collaborates with internationally renowned guest artists.
Open to musicians, poets, rappers and beat makers, the group grasps jazz music’s spirit of exploration of groove, improvisation and sense of constant change, whilst occasionally delving into African rhythms, world music, electronica, post rock, dub and other genres.
Taking inspiration from artists such as the Sun Ra Arkestra, GZA and Nicolas Jaar, (Im)Possibilities have performed alongside Sons of Kemet, TrioVD and Arun Ghosh at venues like the Barbican, Rich Mix and most recently at Walthamstow Garden Party alongside local ensemble E17 Jazz Collective
Their next exciting project, leading up to a performance at Rich Mix on Sunday 21 November 2015 as part of Serious Production’s Next Generation Takes Over showcase, will see the group playing original music created with guest composer and saxophonist Pete Wareham (of acclaimed bands Polar Bear, Acoustic Ladyland and Melt Yourself Down).
Come down to this London Jazz Festival event and support original grooves created by a ‘Next Generation’ of talented UK musicians!
