Paterson Joseph, the award-winning actor and author, will be coming to Kingston University on 21stJune 2023, as part of a one-day, in-person, interdisciplinary symposium ‘Speaking Texts: Uncovering the Eighteenth-Century Stories Hiding in Plain Sight’.

Organised by Karen Lipsedge in conjunction with the KSA Research Group, Race/Gender Matters, this symposium seeks to uncover, explore, recognise, and celebrate those stories, peoples, and objects, hiding in plain sight, with a particular focus on the eighteenth-century history, culture, and literature of not only Britain but also Europe, North America, and the wider world.

On 21st June, Paterson Joseph will join a range of speakers, including researchers, education providers, practitioners, and individuals working in the cultural and creative industries, to talk about his debut novel ‘The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho’ (2022).
