OrchestRAM returns

GuildhallSchool Red

Guildhall School of Music & Drama is delighted to once again be collaborating with drum & bass imprint RAM Records for OrchestRAM: An orchestral journey into drum & bass, taking place at the Barbican on Saturday 11 March.

Following the success of OrchestRAM at Milton Court in September 2022, which saw three sold-out nights of epic performances by the Guildhall Session Orchestra, the show has been updated for 2023. The evening will feature orchestral renditions of tracks from the iconic label’s catalogue, performed by over 40 musicians, in the first-ever full-length drum & bass production in the Barbican Hall.

This celebration of drum & bass will take audiences on an epic orchestral journey into the genre, with the Guildhall Session Orchestra – a fully professional ensemble of alumni from Guildhall School – being joined by a DJ, percussion and singers to perform many of RAM’s biggest hits.

Classic RAM releases from the likes of Chase & Status, Wilkinson, Sub Focus, Origin Unknown, DJ Fresh, and RAM Trilogy will feature among interpretations of more recent releases from Mandidextrous, Culture Shock, Mob Tactics, Andy C and Raiser, in performances elevated by undaunted stage production.

RAM Records was established in 1992 by legendary drum & bass producer Andy C with the help of his friend Ant Miles and is run by Andy C and fellow producer Scott Bourne (Red One).

OrchestRAM: An orchestral journey into drum & bass takes place at 8pm on Saturday 11 March 2023 at the Barbican. Tickets go on sale via the Barbican Box Office at 10am on Friday 27 January.
