TCCE new forum ‘Intersectionality: Race, Gender and Class’

tcce-logo

TCCE are delighted to be launching a new research and activity forum based around ideas of Intersectionality, covering issues of race, gender and class.

Building on our existing body of work concerning social equity and justice, this forum will be led by Dr Javeria Shah from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and will launch on December 14th with an in-person event on ‘Authentic Decolonisation’. This event will re-imagine decolonisation discourse and action to include the voices of the colonial and post colonial diaspora, particularly global majority voices, to revisit ideas of decolonisation outside of the Eurocentric imagination.

We will consider ways in which decolonisation can evolve from abstract ideas to practice in the curriculum, social interaction, and in our systems and structures by centring the often omitted voices of those impacted generationally or currently by European colonisation. Chaired by Dr Javeria Shah, our speakers will be Faisal Islam, creative producer and artist, Subhadra Das, writer, historian, broadcaster, comedian and curator, and Riadh Ghemmour, academic and educational consultant.
