Event Details
Led by current Guildhall jazz student and bassist Lucy Clarke and alumnus Mark Fincham this Guildhall Jazz Department showcase will play tribute to the late great genius bassist of British jazz Ron Mathewson.
Featuring original arrangements of compositions that Mathewson recorded with The Ray Russell Quartet, Amalgam, Gordon Beck’s Gyroscope, Harry Beckett’s S & R Powerhouse Section, and Kenny Wheeler, Clarke and Fincham will perform on Ron Mathewson’s double bass, bequeathed to Guildhall School to benefit future generations of jazz students.
