Join us for our first in a series of ‘lunchtime socials’ focusing this year on practical skills. These practical workshop sessions respond to the increasingly diverse roles that academics are expected to fulfil and aim to provide academics and those within the academy with skills and expertise related to a wide range of activities.

Our first session is on blogging for academics and will provide both established and early career academics with tools and resources to begin blogging, or alternatively to enhance their knowledge and confidence in this area.

Our speakers are

  • Dr Glenda Cooper, Senior Lecturer in Journalism at City University, and founder of The Knowhow podcast where researchers and professionals discuss political and social issues in a post-truth era and the dilemmas news media face covering them.
  • Dr Nadine Muller, Reader in Women’s & Gender Studies at Liverpool John Moores University and creator of ‘The New Academic’, a series of blog posts on the challenges of academic life which aims to make academia a more accessible and inclusive environment.

This session will be chaired by Dr Gemma Outen, Programme Manager at TCCE.

This event is free to TCCE members, please book using your institutional email.
