Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik’s multi-award winning musical combines an electrifying
rock score with the strict world of 19th century Germany in this tale of the adolescent journey from innocence to experience.
In this highly religious small town, the teenagers want to understand their changing
bodies and urges, but the adults want to keep them innocent to the complexities of life.
A world where the teenagers are kept isolated from one another.
A world where shame leads to confusion and tragedy.
A world where all the teenagers want to do is reach out and touch.
