To mark LGBT+ History Month, SONET and LSBU are proud to present a series of public online events from international thought leaders representing the LGBTQ+ community.
Mike Sarna (he/him), a practitioner and consultant with over 30 years experiences in Museums, explores how we are inspired and influenced by museums and asks: Is the sector going far enough and at pace? He uses case studies to highlight successes and failures that can support how you think about engaging with people and communities.
Mike Sarna is a museum consultant and manager of Wellcome’s Inspiring Science Fund – a £30 million fund for Science Centres across the UK. He has worked developing a myriad of museum offers from his most recent post as the Director, Collections and Public Engagement at Royal Museums Greenwich to other roles at the Natural History Museum; Nature Museum, Chicago; and Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. He has served as a trustee for Bletchley Park and is serving as a trustee for the Fairlight Arts Trust.
