The outstanding duo of Fenella Humphreys (violin, winner of the 2018 BBC Music Magazine Instrumental Award) and Annie Yim (piano, founder of MusicArt) juxtapose Stravinsky’s irrepressible Duo Concertant with three works by composers from the USA: the UK premiere of Sky Macklay’s FastLowHighSlow, John Adams’ witty Road Movies and John Cage’s beautiful deconstructions of American hymn tunes, 6 Melodies.
Fenella Humphreys and Annie Yim currently enjoy acclaim as international concert soloists and chamber musicians, with frequent broadcasts on BBC radio, Classic FM, award-winning recordings, and numerous international appearances to their names. They are known for their vivid interpretations of the violin and piano repertoire, alongside a commitment to new works, in imaginative programmes such as this.
