Forging opportunities for creative entrepreneurship research and sector practice within the Knowledge Exchange Framework

As we await the final version of the Research England and Universities UK Concordat, and the full implementation of the KEF moves closer, the TCCE Creative Entrepreneurship Forum will meet to discuss the potential for academics and sector partners to build on opportunities that the framework offers to support and raise the profile of research collaborations with significant academic and / or social impacts.

The McMillan report identifies leadership as an important aspect in the future development of KE, and in particular university leadership on the ground as an essential component to success within the KEF. Additionally, both McMillan and the draft RE/UUK acknowledge that universities are only part of the diverse and complex KE ecosystem. It can certainly be argued that these diverse voices from outwith the academy are in need of amplification.

This forum is interested in exploring how academics and sector partners who are undertaking impactful collaborative research and knowledge exchange can provide “bottom up” models of leadership and best practice, and what opportunities KEF might provide to support this leadership role within academia and the arts, cultural and creative industries.

We would like to invite short, informal presentations from academics and their industry partners who believe that their collaborations have provided leadership and / or instigated policy / strategy change or provided models of best practice within their institutions or sectors. We will be asking presenters to reflect on what further opportunities KEF might afford to develop excellent KE and leadership in this area.

If you would like to give a presentation as part of the forum, please email a brief description (200 words max) to Suzie Leighton (suzie@tcce.co.uk) by 10th October. Priority will be given to presentations from within the TCCE membership.
