Professor Howard Bowman will diver an informal talk about distractions/the topic of the ‘Catching Flies’ exhibition in the Studio 3 Gallery.
Howard’s specialist research area is cognitive neuroscience, with particular interests in perception, consciousness, attention, language, emotions and decision-making.
The questions the exhibition poses include: what are the consequences of being constantly distracted? Can we function efficiently whilst simultaneously being distracted? How much does the omnipresent internet have to do with this and is a lot of what we see on the subject scaremongering?
