Professor Linda Drew will be stepping down as Ravensbourne’s Vice Chancellor at the end of May 2019, to pursue other interests across the creative and cultural sectors.
Ravensbourne has achieved a great deal during Linda’s tenure, not least gaining university title and relaunching its curriculum with new courses.
The process for appointing a new vice chancellor will begin immediately, open to both internal and external applicants.
Andy Cook, presently Ravensbourne’s Chief Operating Officer, will be interim head of the institution until the appointment of a new vice chancellor, supported in academic leadership by executive deans Dr Gary Pritchard and Professor Lawrence Zeegen.
Commenting, Linda said:
“It has been an immense honour to be Ravensbourne’s Vice Chancellor. I will miss the energy and spirit of the place. The building is alive with staff and students’ passion and relentless determination, people even say they feel it when they walk through the doors. I wish my successor every success in navigating the next steps in the journey.”
Jonathan Drori CBE, Chair of the Board of Governors said
“I and the Board of Governors thank Linda for her dedication and commitment to making Ravensbourne the special place it is today, and for guiding us to university title. Our search for a new vice chancellor to lead this remarkable institution on the next stage of our journey, will begin immediately.”
