This exhibition and accompanying publication capture the insights and ideas of a group of artists at the outset of their teaching careers.
Balancing life as an artist and as an art teacher can be demanding.
While on teaching placements in secondary schools across Greater London, a group of artist teachers were invited to reflect on their position as artists in schools, investigate their new context, and make an artwork in response to this situation.
‘RESIST – Things Artists Do Whilst Learning to Teach’ is the culmination of a collaborative project between artist teachers from the UCL Institute of Education (IOE)’s Art and Design PGCE course and the Freelands Foundation.
Looking forward @JS_Diaspora opening a discussion with stimulus from award winning film #MyNameIs @mynameisdocu on 'Decolonising the self before we can decolonise HE & culture' @RADA_London via @InfoTCCE tomorrow as part of a broader event from 1pm to 3pm.
