Guildhall School graded best UK conservatoire in prestigious survey

The School has been ranked as the UK’s top conservatoire in the 2019 Guardian University Guide for Music. It came third of all higher education institutions for Music, behind Durham and Surrey.

According to the Guardian’s research, Guildhall scored 97.9 out of 100, up from 91 in 2018, when it was ranked as third out of conservatoires and sixth for Music overall. Student satisfaction with courses has gone up by 4 percentage points, and with teaching by 2.8.

The Guardian’s league tables reflect various aspects of both student experience and subsequent career outlook. Institutions are ranked according to spending per student; the student/staff ratio; graduate career prospects; what grades applicants need to get a place; a value-added score that compares students’ entry qualifications with their final degree results; and how satisfied final-year students are with their courses, based on results from the annual National Student Survey (NSS). Universities are ranked by subject area. Find full methodology on the Guardian website.
The School also ranked 13th for Drama, the same as in 2018.
