7th February, 2014 / 11.00am - 4.00pm
1,500 young people, aged 13-16, from across the country, unleashed their ideas through one of four Saturday Club strands. Club Member’s work will be exhibited alongside a selection of artworks by Ross Sinclair titled ‘T-Shirt Painting’ from the Arts Council Collection. This exhibition amplifies the voices of the future and truly reveals the breadth of creativity the next generation have to offer.
Attending free classes for up to 30 weeks, Club Members were welcomed into their local college, university or museum, receiving expert tuition from tutors and student assistants. They received further inspiration from visits to Tate Modern, Science Museum, Barbican and Courtauld Gallery and workshops with top professionals including Barnaby Barford, McLaren, Apple, Nike and got stuck into once in a life time projects such as designing costumes with the English National Opera. From word-walls on Brexit, to folk-tales transformed into video games and art inspired by revolutionary Russia, this is creativity untamed, re-drawn and outspoken.
