Pre-call announcement: Highlight Notice for Impact and Engagement Follow-on Funding in International Development

The AHRC has announced a new highlight notice under the Follow-on Funding for Impact and Engagement Scheme (FoF) to support creative engagements with new audiences and user communities.

Funded as a part of the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), the aim of the call is to fund innovative ways to enhance engagement with AHRC-funded research in countries receiving Official Development Assistance (ODA) or which contribute more broadly to international development.

The highlight notice will provide opportunities to submit collaborative applications of up to £100,000* for periods up to 12 months. Proposals will be expected to involve equitable partnerships with development organisations or low and middle income countries and to explore unanticipated or emergent pathways to impact relating to current or past AHRC-funded research (including projects supported under the GCRF and Newton Fund).

As well as meeting the requirements of the Follow-on Funding for Impact and Engagement Scheme (FoF), applications submitted under this highlight notice will need to meet the requirements of Official Development Assistance, including submission of an ODA Compliance Statement (see here for further information).

Highlight notices are offered as opportunities within existing AHRC research schemes and are intended to stimulate proposals addressing strategic priorities or emerging research areas in order to encourage innovation, new thinking and/or the development of collaborations in these areas. Find out more about our current Highlight Notices.

The full highlight notice and call document will be available by 11 May 2018 and the deadline for applications is expected to fall in mid July 2018.

Applications which do not fit under this highlight notice can continue to be submitted to the standard Follow-on Funding scheme as usual.
