UWL ITMBees Society awarded for outreach activities

The University of West London ITMBees Society has won the Greatest Impact and Outreach Award at the Tech Partnership South Event, which was held in Reading on Wednesday 14 March.

Held at the Madejski Stadium’s Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, the event, which was attended by students and employers, featured a range of presentations, competitions and networking opportunities.

UWL ITMBees was formed just last month with a mission to provide a space to ‘share, learn and discuss all things tech and business related.’

ITMBees ambassadors Sarah Malcolm and Adam Hazem have been visiting schools and communities to promote technology in business, and to talk about some of the projects they’ve been working on during their studies.

Adam, one of the founding members of the society, is a second year BSc (Hons) Information Technology Management for Business (ITMB) student at UWL. He said:

It was nice to get recognised, and I’m proud of all the guys who are part of the society. We felt like we were going in as underdogs so it was great to get the recognition.
